EXP 1: 18 Sections 2

Image
I decided to redo my sections. In the process of doing thinking of different designs for my first 18 sections, I lost track of the words, I began to draw shapes just for the sake of completing 18 sections. I was also very indecisive about my clients, always switching between Louise Bourgeois and Magnus Walker, hence the designs didn't really concentrate on the clients, which is the purpose of this assignment.

EXP 1: SketchUp-Louise Bourgeois building & stairs

Noun:  Vulnerability Verb:  Exposed  Adjective: Grotesque  So I decided to develop from my first SketchUp model, even though it wasn't my favourite. I initially assigned that design for Magnus Walker, aiming to recreate a retro warehouse of extruded boxes. Instead, I decided to switch clients to Louise Bourgeois, but still use the same design. Her workshop, however would be placed underground, to give it an eery feeling. I have decided to continue using this design because the boxes give a feeling of enclosure and suffocation, similarly to her sculptures. Furthermore, there is a sense of exposure and vulnerability with the small windows.    This weeks task

EXP 1: Change of clients

Image
I have decided to change my clients. Instead of Magnus, I will now be doing Louise Bourgeoise. I have decided on Issey Miyake and Louise Bourgeoise as my two clients as they share similar characteristics in terms of their art. Both Issey Miyake and Louise Bourgeoise create sculptural forms, all which are very physically dynamic and expressive. Louise Bourgeoise Noun: Vulnerability Violence  Verb: Intimidated  Exposed  Reveal  Adjective: Grotesque  Thoughtful  Transparent Authentic

EXP 1: SketchUp Models of Sections

Image
First SketchUp model. Instead of doing a top and bottom I did two above ground models.  This model was an improvisation. I'm not too familiar with SketchUp yet, so I decided to just play around with the shapes and the tools. For my second section, I used two above ground sections on the right as reference. These weren't my favourite, as they seem too simple, but the other models were quite hard to replicate.
