EXP 2: 18 Axonometrics

NIEMEYER: Repetition and difference. Rhythmic yet dynamic, similarly to the columns of Niemeyer's Mondadori building.

SEJIMA: Enclosed space with various openings to enable natural light to filter in. Sense of comfort within a public space.

NIEMEYER: Heavy geometric shapes, supported by thin columns. Inspired by use of heavy material concrete and elongated columns of Mondadori building.

SEJIMA:Multiple openings. Fluid transitioning between open spaces.

SEJIMA: Shifting cubes. Provides space for skylights.

NIEMEYER:
Frames a space. Inspired by the columns which surround the glass block in the middle of the Mondodori Building.

1. Chosen combined axonometric:
Both axonometrics feature openings. The openings of axonometric on the left function as a transition between different spaces, whilst the one on the right is an entrance to one space. Hence, when combined, this axonometric focuses on transitioning for both the community space within the light rail station and the framing of the transports.
